What is the technical term for an on/off road motorcycle bike?

Monday Jun 1, 2009

I am trying to find a dirt bike that has the blinkers and headlights for on and off road use, but I don't know what they are called?

Dual sport bike. Or dual purpose bike. They are not necessarily called an enduro. Enduro is an off road race. A long time ago,Yamaha used to call their on/off road bike an enduro because that was the only bike they offered, at that time, for the enduro races. That is why people get the term enduro confused with on/off road bikes. An on/off road bike is called a dual sport bike.

I've heard it called an Enduro. There are multiple brands that sell these types of bikes.

I actually just bought one extremely cheap, a Chinese based bike, called a QH200GY, its a 200cc bike that tops out at 55mph, looks exactly like a dirt bike but is street legal. Great for driving around in town and on backroads/small highways, as well as for trail riding.
