What's the diference between a stock exhaust system and a aftermarket system on a motorcycle?

those answers are right. if you do change exhaust you need to gt it remaped or rejetted to prevent valve damage also louder does not mean more power the wrong type of pipe for your kind of riding can lose power

hm suprise noone has answered this.
Usually the difference is horsepower. Thats about it, although some do give better gas mileage and what not and sometimes they are just good on your motor. Like the packing and all the filters in it. Plus they are louder than stock most often

An aftermarket system is less restrictive, therefore it creates more horsepower and usually has a better sound. Each one sounds different, so make sure you listen to different brands before making a purchase.

Not much, depending on the exhaust you buy. There is no special magic, to an after market exhaust. You can buy, the exact same stock exhaust. From the after market, as you can from a dealer. It's only a name if you will. Stock exhaust is simply the exhaust, the manufacture puts on and lists for the bike. After market is simply, an exhaust you buy. That's different from what the manufacture, lists that was on the bike from the factory.
